Using simple techniques and a variety of materials I love to create jewellery which is more than a decorative piece. The different functions of jewellery across cultures fascinates me - charms, amulets and the whole symbolism of wearing certain objects. The sea and beach are also massive influences on me and I'm passionate about beachcombing. The flotsam and jetsum I pick up provide me with endless inspiration. The idea that some of the booty that I pick up has travelled thousands of miles amazes me. The plastic I pick up also gets turned into jewellery - recycling and the environment play a huge part in my life and work.
I love my jewellery to respond in some way to being work - maybe by tinkling or shimmering as it moves, or by being tactile and drawing the wearer to touch it.
mainly I make jewellery that I'd like to wear myself and if other people like it too, then that's great!
