Rebecca is a silversmith and metal worker who is passionate about colour and form. The forms for the 'pebble' range are derived from the delightfully tactile quality found in sea worn pebbles. Rebecca uses copper as it is very reactive to colour change through the application of heat and chemicals. The other range is called 'Geo' and is about the basic geometric forms. The shapes are press formed, etched and then patinated to achieve a stunning array of earthly colours. It is in the serendipitous nature of patinas that means each piece is never exactly the same in colour. The boxes in both ranges have sterling silver hinges and clasps and are lined with leather. Both ranges are also available in hallmarked Sterling Silver. Her work is small scale and tactile, inviting the viewer to pick up the work. |
