Saturday 23 - Monday 25 August, Godolphin House
Deadline for applications: 5pm, Wednesday 14 May 2008
Hidden Art Curated presents contemporary design in an unusual context, the historic rooms of Cornwall's Godolphin House. This exciting exhibition has been incredibly well received at the Design Fair in previous years and, in 2007, the Crafts Council commissioned work from nine designer-makers, responding to the history and context of Godolphin House.

Thanks to the success of Hidden Art Curated in 2006 and 2007, the National Trust is supportive of holding Hidden Art Curated in Godolphin House again this year, and we have invited four curators from a range of backgrounds to collaborate with Hidden Art Cornwall on the project:
Catherine Gibbard - Newlyn Gallery and the Exchange
Anna Hart/Collective Studio - Interior designer responsible for designing Jamie Oliver’s 15 Restaurant in Watergate Bay.
Judit Bodor - Curator and course leader for MA Curating at Dartington College of Arts
Katherine Smith - Vice Chair of Cornwall Design Forum
Much of Godolphin’s furniture belonged to the previous owners and has now been sold, and the house is fairly empty in comparison with previous years.
Each curator will select a room or exterior space at Godolphin and develop their own brief for the project inspired by the setting of Godolphin House. They will select Hidden Art Cornwall members’ work to fit their brief, and re-furnish the now empty, or nearly empty, rooms.
How to Apply
We are now seeking applications from designer-makers who wish to nominate up to six pieces of their work for inclusion in Hidden Art Curated. Hidden Art Curated is a selective exhibition and submission is open to all members of Hidden Art Cornwall.
Download the application information below for full details and eligibility. Complete and return the application form with a CD of images presenting the work you would like considered for Hidden Art Curated.
