In 2008 Hidden Art Cornwall will be linking up with Hidden Art London to give members the opportunity to participate in the successful Innovative Routes to Market programme.
Due to run for its third year, the Innovative Routes to Market programme is recommencing for UK Designers and UK Designer-Makers in January 2008.

The programme is aimed at anyone wishing to get further assistance developing their work from an idea into production and into the marketplace. This is achieved by continuing to bring together designer-makers with manufacturers, suppliers, specialist advisors, mentors and project partners, while also providing extended support for all participants.
The 2008 programme will incorporate suggestions made by the Hidden Art members that participated in 2007 to tailor it more to members’ needs. This will include:
Making It Digital - Making it Digital is a new project being run in association with the Research Cluster at University College Falmouth. The aim of this project is to enable participants to access and explore the potential of digital technologies and work with the 3D Digital Production Research Cluster at University College Falmouth to develop innovative new products and release these onto the market.
Hidden Polymers programme – run in association with the Polymer Centre at London Metropolitan University will be run again. The aim of this project is to develop a design idea into production using polymers, on their own or mixed with steels and metals, and release it on the market. Other opportunities to meet potential buyers as well as suppliers (For example, 2007 saw interest from
B&Q Kingfisher, with a brief for the development of new product for inclusion in the B&Q all store range in 2009.

Innovative Routes to Market is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, with additional support provided by UBS Investment Bank.
