Hidden Art Cornwall launch Event
Hidden Art Cornwall launched with a unique event on Friday 11th November, held at Cornish Mines and Engines, the National Trust property in Pool. The launch spread through-out the venue with a DJ and display of tea-towels in Taylors Engine House, and the Drying Up to London tea-towel auction in the main hall. The combination of a uniquely Cornish venue, some highly original tea-towel designs, Betty Stoggs beer provided by Skinners Brewery and much enthusiasm for the arrival of Hidden Art Cornwall resulted in an entertaining evening.
The
Drying Up to London tea-towel auction was a huge success with 56 tea-towels auctioned by David Lay of Lay's Auction house in Penzance, who gave an amusing and energetic performance. £966.00 was raised with one tea-towel reaching £45.00!
Hidden Art at Salt, an exhibiton to celebrate the launch of Hidden Art Cornwall, also opened at
the salt gallery, Hayle, with a private view on Saturday 12th November. The exhibition showcasing work by 24 members of Hidden Art from London and Cornwall is on until this Friday 18th November. Some of the designer-makers exhibiting from London made it the 300 miles to the private view!
